Knoxville’s baseball squad won a wild and wacky game on the road as they outlasted Pleasantville, 9-7 for their fourth straight win.
The Panthers went back and forth with the Trojans until a four-run seventh inning proved to be the difference in the game. Trenten Kingrey knocked in a two-run double to put Knoxville ahead, and then Dakota Ramsey’s RBI single helped give the Panthers more insurance. Mike Hudson picked up the win on the mound, going six innings and allowing five runs. The win puts Knoxville at 8-10 on the season.
The Trojans came up just short despite Caylor Clark going two for three and a run scored. The crucial point for Pleasantville was them being unable to get any runners across the plate with the bases loaded and nobody out in the sixth after tying the game at five. The loss is Pleasantville’s third straight, which puts them at 7-13 on the season.
Knoxville will be back in action tonight as part of a baseball/softball doubleheader with Pella Christian. The baseball game will be broadcast on 95.3 KNIA and will begin at 7:00 PM with Derek Cardwell on the call. Pleasantville will have a quick turnaround and have a doubleheader with ACGC starting at 10 AM.
