PCM softball hosted Class 1A’s #2 Collins-Maxwell Thursday and lost 5-0 while the baseball team traveled to Albia, where they were defeated 11-0.

The Mustangs softball team couldn’t break their slump at the plate as Riley Johannes’ double was the lone hit for PCM. Collins-Maxwell scored five runs on five hits to put the game away. PCM falls to 9-11 on the season.

The PCM baseball team struggled against Albia as they gave up 11 runs in the third and fourth innings that ended the game after five innings. Andrew Mitchell and Beau Webb each had a base hit and Easton Webb took the loss on the bump for PCM. Despite a rough couple nights for his team, Head Coach Jeff Lindsay understands that just the nature of the game. The Mustangs are now 5-7 overall on the season.

PCM summer sports have tonight off before the baseball team hits the road for the West Marshall tournament Saturday.
