In an era where rural ambulance services have faced several challenges, including reduced volunteers and staff leading to increased response times, Pella Community Ambulance has continued to work to fend off those trends.

Chief Greg Higginbotham says the non-profit organization providing ambulance and EMS services to the City of Pella is over 50 staff members strong now, and recently went under leadership restructuring, including shedding his previous title as director, and new assistant chief Amanda Ritchey taking an expanded role.
