The PCM Baseball team is competing in the West Marshall tournament today. Their first matchup is against Lynnville-Sully, followed by a Heart of Iowa conference matchup with West Marshall.

The 5-7 Mustangs will have a tough test in the first game of the tournament as 10-6 Lynnville-Sully is coming off a loss that dropped them for a tie atop their conference standings. The Mustangs will need to limit walks on the mound, as the Hawks have 70 walks at the plate compared to PCM’s 35.

The second game will be equally as tough as the PCM takes on the Trojans. West Marshall currently sits just a game and a half above the Mustangs for first place in the Heart of Iowa Conference standings. PCM is 5-2 in conference play while West Marshall is 7-1. Pitching will be a big key for the Mustangs as West Marshall leads the conference in runs scored.

PCM’s baseball tournament matchup with Lynnville-Sully is at noon and will be followed by the game against West Marshall.
