The Pella Police Department is raising funds for a K-9 unit. Chief Shane McSheehy says the project is part of several improvement plans to enhance the community’s connection with the department. He says a K-9 unit allows the department to handle searches for missing people and some narcotics situations with a professionally trained dog, which will enhance the service they can provide. Those who wish to make a donation to support the Pella PD K-9 Fundraiser can send or drop off a check to the Pella Police Department.
