Today is “Retro Ridiculous Day” in Knoxville. Chamber of Commerce Director Emma Skahill says retailers will offer special deals with a retro theme.

“We’ve heard a lot from the community that this is an event they want back, and that our retailers would like to see again. We decided to bring it back this summer with a retro-themed twist. We’re really hoping to get all of the downtown businesses involved. Businesses outside downtown can also participate if they want to partner with a downtown business or set up in the street. We’re really excited about it, and we hope the community comes out and gets to do some shopping with some retro prices and enjoy the events going on.”

Participating businesses will offer sidewalk sales, discounted items, and other activities from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio will be on site to play music and provide entertainment.
