The summer sports teams at Twin Cedars had no trouble on the road Friday night as they dominated Orient-Macksburg. The Sabers baseball team won 17-2 in four innings and the softball squad won 16-1 in three innings.

The Sabers offense continued to be red hot at the plate on Friday as they needed just 11 hits to rack up their 17 runs. Brett Sedlock led the charge with four hits and five RBIs. Dallas Clark added three runs batted in and Blake Micetich collected his second win of the season. Head Coach Mark Schroeder has been happy with how the team has rallied around one another as of late. Twin Cedars now has an 8-4 record in Bluegrass conference play and 9-6 overall.

Jillian French paced the Twin Cedars softball offense in the softball victory with a 3-3 performance at the plate with a pair of doubles and two RBIs. Cristen Durian added three base hits with a pair of runs batted in, and Grace Bailey hit her sixth home run of the season. Ali Mockenhaupt picked up the win in the circle after striking out five in three innings of work. With the win the Sabers are now 11-1 in conference action and 19-5 overall.

Twin Cedars softball is on the road today in New Sharon for a tournament that sees them matchup with Pleasantville at 10:30 a.m. and North Mahaska around noon.
