Twin Cedars kicked off the week Monday at Class 2A’s #8 ranked softball team Van Meter and suffered a close loss 2-1.

Grace Bailey rose to the occasion Monday night allowing just one infield single for the entire game. Both runs the Bulldogs scored were unearned. Jetta Sterner batted in the lone Twin Cedars run, while Ali Mockenhaupt provided the lone hit for the Sabers. Twin Cedars had the tying-run on third base in the seventh inning, but a Rylee Dunkin line out ended the game. Twin Cedars falls to 21-6 on the softball season with the loss.

Twin Cedars summer sports are at home today as they welcome Moravia to town. Both games start at 5:30 p.m.
