The City of Knoxville is bringing back the city-wide cleanup in September after being approved by the city council Monday. Interim City Manager Heather Ussery says the timing aligns with the end of the city’s Operation Clean Sweep, and will allow residents to do their part to beautify the city.
“Because of the Clean Sweep our community service officers are doing, we figured it would be important to follow up the Clean Sweep with the city-wide cleanup and provide another resource to the residents to get rid of their belongings. We’ll ask residents to have their items on the curb on that Monday. Midwest Sanitation received the bid, they’ll make one pass through town. We’re looking forward to bringing that back.”
The city-wide cleanup runs September 13th-18th.
