The Indianola summer teams make a road trip to Grinnell tonight to compete for a single game in Little Hawkeye Conference play. The Indians softball team is on a 16-game winning streak and sit atop of the conference standings, and are going for the season sweep over the rival Tigers after sweeping a doubleheader at home in early June.
The baseball squad was swept by Grinnell in their earlier doubleheader, and sit two games back in the standings to the second place Tigers. Head coach Jon Fitzpatrick tells KNIA Sports it’s a coaching cliche, but his squad is only focused on the things they can control which for tonight includes winning a conference game on the road.
First pitch for softball is scheduled for 7:15pm, while baseball will start at 7:30.
