The Pella baseball team earned a walk-off winner 3-2 while the Lady Dutch softball team were on the wrong side of the mercy rule 12-0 in four innings in varsity games at home vs. Oskaloosa Wednesday.

A first pitch home run for the Indians on the baseball diamond did not turn into more, as Jason Knox settled in from there, locking down Osky until giving up an unearned run in the 7th inning. Pella took a lead in the 2nd inning with runs batted in by Ryan Mace and Keegan Hansen. Quinn Rhamy finished as the hero, earning his second career walk-off hit in the bottom of the 7th. Knox struck out eight Oskaloosa batters in a complete game victory. Pella improves to 13-9 overall and 8-7 against league competition, and next travels to Dallas Center for a doubleheader against the Mustangs Friday.

The softball team gave up four runs in the 1st, 2nd, and 4th innings, allowing 17 baserunners. Pella falls to 3-22 and 1-14 against the LHC, and weather-permitting, head to take on No. 5 in 4A DCG this evening.
