A celebration for Michael Braman was held Saturday at the Knoxville VFW for his election to serve as VFW Department of Iowa Commander. He says he feels honored for the support shown by the community as he begins this new role.
“I’m speechless, humbled. It makes me feel good about myself, proud about myself, and it makes me feel good about my community. It was an honor to have Congresswoman Marianette Miller-Meeks in attendance. Brenda from Joni Ernst’s office came. To have city council members here and leaders in the community, it’s an outpouring of support for not only the VFW, but for me.”
Those in attendance enjoyed a meal and musical entertainment throughout the night. Braman was selected for the position earlier this month by his peers, and has spent five years as a VFW member. VHear more about Braman’s new role on an upcoming Let’s Talk Knoxville.
