A Knoxville man faces felony charges after being arrested Saturday. At 3:20 p.m., a Knoxville officer observed a man known to him as 33-year-old Jeffery Schrader riding a bicycle near the intersection of Marion and Harlan Streets. Dispatch advised the officer that Schrader had an active warrant for his arrest.
Schrader informed the arresting officer that he was in possession of a needle. A search turned up a sunglasses case containing a syringe, cotton, and a crystalline substance which field tested positive for methamphetamine.
Schrader was placed under arrest and taken to the Marion County Jail. He faces charges of possession of controlled substance third or subsequent offense, a Class D felony. Bond is set at $5,000, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 1st.
