A Pella woman convicted of first degree murder will have a sentencing hearing this week. Michelle Boat, 56, was found guilty by a jury in May for the killing of Tracy Mondabaugh. First degree murder in Iowa carries a mandatory life sentence without parole, however, the family of victims are able to read impact statements if they choose at hearings. Boat is scheduled to be sentenced at 1 p.m. Thursday in Marion County District Court.
