Pleasantville’s softball squad struggled to put runs on the board as they lost to Interstate-35 7-2 while the baseball squad got edged in extra innings, 3-2.
The Trojans’ softball squad only put up two runs, both coming in their final inning. Amber McKinney went three for four with a double. Faith Vanderhart gave up seven runs in seven innings of work and also went two for four with an RBI. Pleasantville put just two runs across despite getting 12 hits. The Trojans drop to 15-18 on the season with the loss.
The Trojans’ baseball squad fought valiantly with the Roadrunners, but it wasn’t enough as they were outlasted in extras. It is Pleasantville’s third straight loss, dropping their record to 11-16-1 and 7-9 in West Central Conference play.
Both teams will be in action today with non-conference matchups as the softball squad will be at home against Clarke while the baseball team will travel to Chariton. The softball game will begin at 5:30 PM, while the baseball game will be at 7:30 PM.
