US Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh took a tour of the new Missouri Valley Line Constructors Apprenticeship and Training facility earlier this month, visiting the facility that opened up earlier this year with Congresswoman Cindy Axne. Walsh said during the visit the message he is trying to convey about the infrastructure bill that is being worked on by the administration and congress is this is an investment rather than a cost.

“It’s an investment in the American workforce, it’s an investment to keep America at the lead when it comes to industrialized nations, it’s an investment in people, in the cares economy. It’s an investment in childcare, in elder care. All of these are investments. When you think about this, this is a once in a generational type opportunity to make an investment like this. This is probably the biggest opportunity since the New Deal.”
