The PCM baseball team had a doubleheader at Roland-Story Wednesday night and dropped both games 11-1 in six innings. PCM softball fell to the No. 13 team in Class 3A Roland-Story in a single game also by a final score of 11-1 in 5 innings.

PCM baseball jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the first inning of game one, before the Norsemen would respond with five runs in the bottom half of the frame. Roland-Story would add at least one run in each inning except the third before defeating the Mustangs in six innings. Game two would see Roland-Story take a 6-0 lead into the fourth inning. PCM was able to push a run across to get on the scoreboard, but Roland-Story would respond with five more runs in the game to down the Mustangs via the mercy rule again. With the losses, PCM falls to 6-12 overall and 5-6 in conference play.

On the softball diamond, PCM was able to take the lead in the top of the first, as Riley Johannes singled home Sidney Shaver. From there it would be all Roland-Story. The Norsemen would respond with six runs in the bottom of the first. Roland-Story added a run in the fourth, and then piled on four more runs in the fifth to end the game via mercy rule. The loss drops the Mustangs under .500 as they sit at 13-14 on the year. PCM will finish the season in third place in the Heart of Iowa Conference standings behind Saydel and Roland-Story.

PCM summer sports have the night off before their games on Friday. The baseball team will welcome East Marshall to town, while the softball team will wrap up their regular season by hosting South Hamilton.
