Pella and Pella Christian both won a comeback extra inning game against their cross-town rival in a five hour marathon doubleheader heard live on the KRLS3 stream Wednesday night on www.kniakrls.com.

The Lady Dutch jumped in front 3-0 in the opener, only to see the Eagles tie the game on a throwing error with two outs in the top of the seventh inning.  P.C. then scored six times in the eighth to win 9-3.

The script was flipped in the nightcap, with Pella Christian jumping out to a 5-0 lead, only to see Pella battle back, eventually tying the game with three runs in the sixth.  P.C. scored once in the top of the eighth, but the Lady Dutch struck twice, including a walk-off single by Kiki Riggen to win 7-6.

Alexa Dunsburgen got the win in the circle for Pella Christian in game one and added four hits at the plate in the doubleheader.  Anna Bonnett had three hits, and Emma Eekhoff had the only home run of the night.

For Pella, Ella Corbin was the game two winner.  Kylie Tauke, Katie Pollock and Tori Van Vark all had three hits.  The Lady Dutch also turned a triple play in the sixth inning of the first game, with Ava Curry snagging a Bailey Roose line drive with the bases loaded.

Pella is 7-25 on the season and 3-16 in the Little Hawkeye Conference.  They’ll host league champion Indianola this evening in a game you can hear with Andrew Swadner on the call on 94.3 KNIA.  Pella Christian is 13-18 and 5-15.  They’re at home against Norwalk to wrap up the regular season tonight.
