twin-cedars-4

The Twin Cedars softball team hosted the No. 3 team in Class 1A in Collins-Maxwell tonight and fell short, losing 4-1.

Grace Bailey and Ali Mockenhaupt kept the Sabers in the game in the circle, as they struck out a combined eight batters and gave up just two earned runs. Head Coach Zack Dunkin said that based on last season’s matchup with the Spartans the offense would be the key to pulling off the upset. Twin Cedars couldn’t manufacture the runs needed however, as Bailey provided the Sabers their lone hit in 10 chances with runners in scoring position. The loss drops the Sabers to 23-10 on the season.

Twin Cedars softball has an unusual doubleheader today, first hosting Moravia at 12 p.m. and then traveling to Moulton-Udell for a contest at 7:30 p.m. The Twin Cedars baseball game has just a single game at Moulton-Udell tonight, which begins at 5:30 p.m.
