The Indianola Downtown Square Reconstruction Project is several weeks into the construction phase, closing off portions of the square including Salem Avenue from B Street to Howard Street and along Buxton Street from Salem Avenue to Ashland Avenue. Jay Byers with the Greater Des Moines Partnership tells KNIA News he is excited for Indianola to continue to expand, and be a part of the entire Des Moines metro area that is seeing some of the best growth in the country.
“Warren County has been growing, Indianola has been growing, the entire greater Des Moines region has been growing. In fact as a region we’ve been growing over the last decade plus than all the other surrounding larger metros. Warren County as a whole, and specifically Indianola is a robust community, we all grow together. So we’ve been on a great path of growth, and this is just going to further accelerate that growth.”
Byers also said the investment is exciting to see for the area, and adds another attraction to bring visitors and shoppers to the area that already includes events such as the National Balloon Classic and the Des Moines Metro Opera among many others.
