It was all Panthers all the time along Panther Drive Thursday night as both Knoxville boys and girls of summer recorded victories over Clarke. Baseball swept the Indians in a varsity doubleheader 11-5 in game one and ended things early in the 6th inning 12-2 in the nightcap, which was heard live on 95.3 KNIA. The first game was all about Beau Leisure keeping Clarke off balance with eight strikeouts to earn the win. Bode Cox had a two RBI single in the first inning to help the Panthers post seven runs. While it took a little longer in the second game, the Panthers eventually pulled away with five runs in the 4th inning taking advantage of walks issued by Clarke pitchers. Evan Eck put the hammer down in the 5th inning with a solo bomb to left field.

Luke Spaur was equally brilliant as Leisure was in game one getting the win in game two scattering five hits and striking out five. Knoxville is now 13-14 on the season and for the first time is above 500 in the South Central Conference at 9-8. Meanwhile across the way on Panther Driver Ciara Heffron was busy throwing a one hit, ten strikeout gem, blanking Clarke 1-0 she has been working on the mental game and not getting too up or down about things…

Elaina Hamilton got the lone RBI for Knoxville while Hannah Dunkin went 2/3. Knoxville is now 20-8 on the season and 6-4 in the South Central Conference. Both Panthers squads will head to Chariton tonight.
