The Twin Cedars softball team hosted an unusual doubleheader Thursday including having game two moved due to weather related poor field conditions. The Sabers won both games at home, defeating Moravia at noon 12-0 in five innings and then beating Moulton-Udell at 5:30 p.m. 14-4 in four innings. The softball team also picked up a third victory via a forfeit by Diagonal. The baseball team took down Moulton-Udell 15-1.
Grace Bailey picked up her 17th win of the season in Twin Cedars softball’s first game after pitching all five innings and allowing just three hits. The offense had 15 hits as Bailey, Ali Mockenhaupt and Jillian French all went 3-3 at the plate. French added 5 RBIs while Jetta Sterner plated two runs for the Sabers. In their second game of the day, Mockenhaupt did a little bit of everything, giving the Sabers four innings of one-hit softball and also leading the offense with a 4-4 performance, including three doubles and four RBIs. The Sabers collected 17 hits in game two. Sterner drove in three runs on two hits and Bailey had a 3-3 performance with two RBIs. The Sabers also added a forfeit win against Diagonal which gives Twin Cedars a 15-1 conference record and a 26-10 record overall.
