PCM softball wrapped up their regular season Friday night with a win over South Hamilton 10-6, while the baseball team ended the week with a victory over East Marshall 8-6.
Friday night saw a little bit of history on the softball diamond for PCM as sophomore Riley Johannes tied the PCM single season record for doubles. Fellow sophomore Joslin Briles added her fifth home run of the season as the Mustangs completed their regular season with the victory. PCM will head into postseason action with a 9-3 conference record and 14-14 overall record.
In a baseball battle of the Mustangs, PCM came out on top as they defeated East Marshall. PCM jumped out early to a 6-1 lead in the first two innings. East Marshall would rally with three runs in the fourth to pull within two, but PCM would respond with two runs in the bottom of the frame. East Marshall would add to more in the seventh before PCM slammed the door on their comeback effort to claim the 8-6 victory. PCM now sits at 7-12 on the season.
PCM softball is off until Class 3A Regional Play begins Tuesday at Knoxville, a game that can be heard live on 95.3 KNIA. The Mustangs baseball team will kick off their final week of the regular season Monday by welcoming Collins-Maxwell to Prairie City.
