The Indianola softball team has won seven games in a row, and 25 of their last 26 games dating back to a June 5th loss to Southeast Polk, and sits second in the state in overall wins with 33. Head coach Stacy Evans tells KNIA Sports what is nice to see for the program is a continued culture of excellence year in and year out, and she gives a lot of credit to former players that have come back and joined the coaching ranks.
“I really do think that tradition never graduates. I think it’s embedded in them, and it’s kudos to the staff that embraces that and we have players that buy into this type of a program so they know what is expected when they reach the varsity level.”
The Indians wrap up their regular season with a 33-4 record, and await either Dowling Catholic or Des Moines Lincoln on their home field next Saturday to begin regional play.
