In his first full season on the mound for Simpson College baseball, junior Colton Major earned the program’s fourth College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District selection, the organization announced Thursday.
Major in one of three American Rivers Conference honorees on the 16-man CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 roster. He holds a 3.48 grade-point average as an actuarial science major to help the Storm tally back-to-back Academic All-District recipients.
The 2021 All-American Rivers Conference Second Team performer posted a 4-3 record on the hill for the Storm. He finished seventh in batting average against (.246), ninth in strikeouts (53), 11th in ERA (4.66) and 14th in innings pitched (56.0) across the league rankings.
The Knoxville native will now be placed on the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. First, second and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in late July.
