Melcher-Dallas’ baseball squad finished the regular season with a doubleheader sweep of Colo-Nesco with victories of 10-4 and 5-4, respectively.

Game one saw a late offensive burst from the Saints, scoring four runs in both the fifth and sixth innings. Melcher-Dallas came away with 11 hits, including six doubles. Ryan Krpan finished two for three with two doubles and two RBIs. Cole Metz and Logan Godfrey each went two for two with a double and two RBIs in the victory. Godfrey picked up the win on the mound, giving up three runs in 3.1 innings of work.

Game two was a much closer game, but saw the Saints come away with the victory on a go-ahead RBI double from Krpan in the sixth inning. Owen Mann went one for three with a double and two RBIs. Metz went two for two with two runs scored in the victory. Krpan picked up the win on the mound, pitching two shutout innings in relief. With the sweep, Melcher-Dallas finishes the season with a 15-13 regular season record.

The Saints will begin playoff action Saturday night at Lynnville-Sully High School as they take on North Mahaska for the second time this week.
