The #6 in Class 4A Norwalk softball team was at Ames Wednesday for its regular season finale, and dropped a 4-3 decision. The Little Cyclones got the scoring underway with two runs in the first and another in the second. Norwalk got back within one with two runs in the fifth, but Ames tacked on another in the bottom of the frame to make it 4-2. The Warriors scored one run in the top of the seventh, but the final out was recorded before they could tie the game. Norwalk finishes its regular season at 23-15 overall, and returns to action Saturday against either Washington or Oskaloosa in the regional semifinals.
The Warrior baseball team was scheduled to take on Bondurant-Farrar Wednesday evening, but the game was cancelled due to inclement weather. Norwalk will return to action tonight at Waukee, with the first pitch scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
