The PCM softball team had their season end this week with a first round exit in the 3A Regional Tournament against Knoxville, but the loss came with a little bit of history. Sophomore Third Baseman Riley Johannes broke the PCM single season record for doubles in the fifth inning. That highlighted a turnaround season for the Mustangs as they rebounded from a 5-15 record a year ago with a last place finish in the Heart of Iowa conference, to a 14-15 year with a third place finish in the league. Head Coach Shaun Hudnut said that he’s proud of the progress that this team made throughout the season.

While the PCM softball season has ended, the PCM baseball team will begin district play on Saturday on the road against Pleasantville at East Marshall.
