To complete the Marion County Softball Showdown trilogy, it was Twin Cedars who came out on top defeating Melcher-Dallas 7-2 in the second round of the 1A Regional Tournament Thursday.
Grace Bailey threw a complete game for the Sabers, allowing just two runs, which came in the first inning, and struck out nine to collect the win. Kisha Reed had a pair of base knocks to lead the Sabers offense, while Bailey drove in three runs for Twin Cedars. BrieAnna Remster threw six innings for the Saints and allowed just two earned runs to match Bailey in the circle. Riley Enfield led the Saints offense with a pair of hits and Paetyn Anderson batted in both Saints runs with a double in the first.
The Sabers advance to the third round of the Regional Tournament tonight and will play at Wayne in Corydon at 7 p.m. The Saints finish their season with a 27-9 record.
