Indianola’s baseball squad survived a scare from Knoxville on Senior Night as they knocked off the Panthers 4-3, while the softball squad opens postseason play against Dowling Catholic tonight.

The Indians’ baseball squad came back from being down 3-0. Knoxville opened the scoring with one run in the first and second innings, then followed up with a run in the fourth. Indianola stormed back and scored three in both fifth and sixth innings to come away with the victory. The Indians improve to 25-10, while Knoxville drops to 17-17 on the year.

The Indians’ softball squad will open postseason play at home against the Maroons of Dowling Catholic, who beat Des Moines Lincoln in their first playoff matchup. Indianola comes into the game with a record of 33-4 on the year, including a seven-game winning streak, which includes winning the Dallas Center-Grimes tournament to finish the season.

The baseball team will have a quick turnaround as they play Oskaloosa today at 10:00 AM. The softball game will begin at 7:00 PM and will be broadcast on 94.3 KNIA with Alex Koch on the call.
