The Knoxville Softball Squad watched the game slip away early and could not recover in a 6-2 loss to West Liberty on Friday heard live on 95.3 KNIA which was shortened to five innings by rain. Knoxville got down early in the first, but this time could not recover from a two run deficit. The Panthers twice got the lead down to one, but could never tie it, and just before the rain fell the Comets shut the door on a two run homer to left. Ashlyn Finarty took the loss for Knoxville going 3 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on four hits and striking out one. Ciara Heffron led the Panthers with two hits in three at bats. Knoxville finishes the season with a 22-9 record, and graduates no seniors.
