Recently graduated Central College women’s tennis player Karleigh Schilling was announced as a selection to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Division III Academic All-District 8 teams Thursday afternoon.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must be a starter or key reserve at the varsity level and achieve a 3.30 or better cumulative grade point average. Schilling is now under consideration for Academic All-America honors. Schilling was chosen for the at-large categories which covers 14 different sports, including tennis.
Schilling earned a degree in economics, graduating with a 3.94 GPA. She achieved a career singles record of 34-27 and doubles record of 43-24. She was named to the American Rivers All-Conference team for singles and doubles all four years of her career. She was also awarded the team’s DeHaan Most Valuable Player Award in each of her four seasons.
Schilling becomes the seventh member of the Dutch women’s tennis team to earn Academic All-District accolades and the first since Angie Allgood in 2015.
