Area county fairs will soon begin, and area 4H and FFA members are preparing their livestock and static exhibits. Knoxville High School junior Morgan McKay is an ambassador on the state 4H board, and says that county fairs provide the public with the opportunity to view and appreciate the hard work of area youth. McKay says we should all attend local county fairs.
“You’ll have a blast, you will meet so many people, you’ll see all the amazing projects these kids and young adults have done, and what they have accomplished. If you want to say that kids don’t know how to work, you come to the county fair and your mindset will be changed instantly. And if you want some cookie dough or a good snack, the county fair is where it’s at.”
This year, McKay will show two lambs and four hens. She plans to attend DMACC and then attend Simpson College to study multimedia communications and marketing. The 2021 Marion County Fair runs July 16th through 22nd.
