The first customers have been signed up for Pella Fiber’s internet. City Administrator Mike Nardini says between the hiring of an additional construction firm to complete service drops and several residents acting as test homes, they are signing up households on the north side of Pella for gigabit internet services. Additionally, Nardini says after last week’s Pella City Council meeting, managed wifi will now be included in all customers’ service plans free of charge. Nardini anticipates television services to be available late this summer for those with fiber connections to their homes completed, with hundreds of drops from streets to houses and businesses scheduled to be finished by the end of the fall.
