The Pella Police Department is partnering with businesses in the community to raise funds for a new K-9 unit.

Events will be held at Triumph Martial Arts on July 17th and at the Cellar Peanut Pub on July 31st to support the project.

The event at Triumph is part of a larger Kids Safety day, with several activities ongoing next Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.

Pella Police Captain Paul Haase is thankful for the support already received, with several expenses yet to be covered for the new dog, including training and ongoing expenses.

Those wanting to donate to the Pella Police Department for a new K-9 unit can do so at their lobby at the corner of Main and Liberty Streets.
