Pleasantville’s baseball squad opened postseason play with a 10-6 victory over PCM at East Marshall High School Saturday afternoon.
Jake DeJoode got the victory on the mound for the Trojans, striking out seven in six innings of work. Jonah Schumacher, Trevor Daggett, Dale Jolly, and Ben Wicks all got multiple hits at the plate. Daggett finished two for four with a double and three RBIs. Schumacher and Wicks each went two for three with two singles. The win improves Pleasantville to an overall record of 15-18-1.
The Mustangs got three hits and two runs from Andrew Mitchell. Sage Burns finished two for four on the night with two RBIs. Beau Webb struck out six in 5.2 innings of work in the loss. PCM finishes the season with an 8-15 record overall and a 5-7 record in Heart of Iowa Conference Play.
Pleasantville will travel to face West Central Conference foe Des Moines Christian Tuesday at 7:00 PM.
