The Twin Cedars baseball team resumed play in their first round district game versus Montezuma on Monday after play was suspended in the bottom of the fourth inning due to inclement weather on Saturday. The Sabers came up just short against the Braves falling 3-2.
Twin Cedars fell behind 2-1 on Saturday before the rain fell and suspended play. When play resumed Monday, the score remained the same until the Sabers managed to tie the game in the top of the seventh inning. Montezuma still had a chance to hit though, and took advantage of the opportunity as they pushed across the winning run to walk-off the first round district game. Head Coach Mark Schroeder said that the seniors played a big role in the team’s success this season, but also have set a great foundation for the future of the program.
Twin Cedars finished the season with a 15-11 record, the program’s third consecutive season with a winning record.
