The Norwalk baseball team left no doubt in Friday’s substate first round matchup against Council Bluffs Jefferson, winning 19-0 in four innings, as aired on KNIA3. Norwalk wasted no time in putting the game out of reach, scoring six runs in the first and 12 in the second before adding another in the third with the bench mostly empty. Ryan Wood led at the plate with three hits and two doubles, driving in five runs.

Vinnie Mauro also had three hits and five RBI’s to lead a balanced offensive attack. Evan Borst was the winning pitcher, giving up no hits and one walk while recording five strikeouts in two innings of work. Norwalk moves to 29-6 on the season, and earns a bye to Wednesday’s substate final against the winner of Council Bluffs Lewis Central at Waukee.
