The Pella Fire Department brought in a State of Iowa Fire Marshal’s trailer this week to simulate different scenarios for their staff.

Pella Fire Training Coordinator Jeremy Scott says the Fire Service Training Bureau’s Mobile Breathing Apparatus Training Unit was used Thursday night to train staff on ways to navigate smoke-filled corridors with limited access.

Scott says despite being a volunteer service, the Pella Fire Department routinely exceeds state minimum training standards to ensure they are ready for any call.
