Melcher-Dallas’ softball squad had one of their best years in school history, and it was highlighted by six Saints being selected to the Bluegrass Conference First-Team.

Leading the way for the Saints at the plate was Haley Godfrey, who hit .490 with 44 RBIs and also had an .895 fielding percentage at third base. Kynser Reed made First-team at first base, hitting .479 with four home runs, 54 RBIs, and a .995 fielding percentage. Riley and Kacey Enfield made First-team as well with Riley at catcher and Kacey as an extra infielder. Riley hit .455 and had a .992 fielding percentage. Kacey hit .398 with an .872 fielding percentage. Both Enfield sisters had 14 stolen bases, leading the way for Melcher-Dallas.

Rounding out the first-team selections were underclassmen BrieAnna Remster and Paetyn Anderson. Remster as a pitcher went 25-7 with a 1.28 ERA inside the circle. Remster also was a force at the plate, hitting .439 with seven home runs and 42 RBIs. The seven home runs led the team. The outfielder Anderson hit .347 and had an .875 fielding percentage in 2021.

Making Second-Team All-Conference was Summer Karpan, who satisfied the need of a defensive specialist at second base. Karpan finished with an .897 fielding percentage despite hitting just .200. Making honorable mention in 2021 was Kasyn Reed, who hit .273 with a .714 fielding percentage.

Melcher-Dallas finished the season with 27 wins, tying a school record.
