The City of Knoxville is reminding residents that it is seeking donations for a Christmas tree. Interim City Manager Heather Ussery says the city wants to purchase a large tree, and the community’s help is needed.
“We are seeking donations for a 26-foot commercial-grade light up Christmas tree that would be placed in downtown throughout the holiday season. Those donations can be mailed or dropped off at City Hall.”
It’s a 26-foot-tall tree, and includes multi-color LED lighting technology, which would be placed on the courthouse lawn. The city’s goal is to raise $22,000. Donations can be mailed or dropped off at City Hall, and are eligible as a tax deduction.
