The Indianola School Board discussed the third round of Coronavirus Relief Funding from the federal government at their meeting Monday, reviewing the possible uses for the funds and how best to implement any new initiatives. Superintendent Art Sathoff tells KNIA News the funds could go towards several areas of need, but there will be plenty of time before anything is voted on by the board and the public will have a chance to review any decision made.
“We are working on priorities right now and we will get a plan out for public view sometime in August. These funds can pay for a variety of things, we are looking at staffing positions to help address learning loss, some of the new device expenses can come out of these funds. Right now we are prioritising and figuring out how to spend the money, and we will get that out in front of the public and the board and will have time for public comment before that process is wrapped up.”
