The Indianola baseball team’s seniors did not have long to work with new head coach Jon Fitzpatrick, but they made their mark on the program with their ability to buy into a new coaching program and their production on the field this past season. Coach Fitzpatrick tells KNIA Sports this senior class of seven might not be the recipients of the good things that are coming to the program, but they certainly helped lay the foundations of what he is trying to build.
“They might not be the guys playing at state, but when we get there it will be because of them and just being able to set that standard, coming in every day playing the way we need them to and the way I like to coach. It won’t be easy to replace all seven guys, but they were a big part of this year’s team.”
The Indians ended the season with a 30-11 record and a substate finals appearance.
