A heat advisory has been issued for Marion and Warren Counties and most of south central Iowa. Daytime highs in the low-to-mid 90s are expected over the next several days, with heat index values topping 100 today and again on Tuesday and Wednesday. Sunstroke, heat cramps, or heat exhaustion are all possible with prolonged exposure and/or physical activity in those conditions. Those with plans to be outdoors should take frequent breaks in air conditioning and stay hydrated.
