The No. 8 athletics moment of the Eagles school year was a sophomore chasing down a pack of fast runners to earn a trip to Fort Dodge.
Kaden Van Wyngarden passed six athletes in the final half mile of the state qualifying meet 5K to place 13th at the district site and find a spot among Iowa’s best 2A cross country runners at the state meet.

Van Wyngarden would go on to place 88th, and will be a key returner on an Eagles team that placed 4th at the state qualifying site in Williamsburg on October 22nd and has eyes on being one of the top 15 teams in 2A this fall.
