As the new school year gets underway, more than a dozen area high school students have already been earning as they learn through apprenticeships and the Career Academy of Pella and WorkSmart Connector. Pella High School Principal Adam Beckel says in the upcoming school year, they will be working to further enhance or change their options available in hospitality services–previously culinary arts, and in other areas to expand opportunities. Beckel says any parent at an area high school can contact their school counselor to set up an apprenticeship through the Career Academy of Pella and WorkSmart Connector.
