Marion County Development held a Target Industry Project presentation Wednesday at the Emergency Management Office conference room. Marion County Development has been working with AdyAdvantage over the last several months to analyze potential target industries for business attraction and develop marketing strategies to reach decision makers in each target industry. Executive Director Carla Eysink says the key takeaway from this presentation is that the business community in Marion County is positioned well.

“I think they showed that we have a great potential here for growth. We know that 80 percent of our jobs will be happening by our existing industry, but we also know the importance of supplementing that with business attraction, and how those work together. As we look at business startups, second stage business growth, existing industry expansion, and business recruitment, as well as working with our companies on succession planning. That whole supply chain of business development is important, and how we integrate that with our talent attraction and upscaling efforts is also important.”
