Counting down the top 10 sports stories of the year for Simpson College with #7. The Simpson men’s cross country team came into the 2020 season with a young but hungry squad, and were looking to bring the Simpson men’s cross country team to heights not seen since the late 1980’s. Competing against the conference’s top runners at the American Rivers Conference meet at Central College, the Storm finished in third place and for the first time since 1988, had three all-conference performers for their best team finish since 1990. Sophomore Spencer Moon tallied fourth for Simpson’s best individual finish since Dave Halferty recorded first in 1989. Senior Harry Dudley capped off his career with a 10th-place showing and sophomore Eric Baldus crossed in 12th.
