The 2021 National Balloon Classic starts today, the first of nine days of competitions featuring over 100 hot air balloons and pilots along with entertainment, fireworks, food, and special events. Tonight’s entertainment features a 6:30pm balloon flight, vintage balloons will be inflated at 7pm, and Jake Simon will be playing music on stage.
The gates to the balloon field open at 4pm. To enter the National Balloon Classic Field, tickets must be purchased in advance and there will be no sales at the gate. Tickets can be purchased either at the Indianola Hy-Vee Customer Service Station, or purchased online and printed, no tickets will be scanned from a mobile device.
