pleasantville-3

The top ten stories from Pleasantville from the 2020-21 school year continues with the most inspirational story of the year for the Trojans.

One of the most talented athletes for Pleasantville was Aaron Wilkins, who was a four-sport athlete for the Trojans. Wilkins unfortunately was the victim of not one, but two torn ACLs that required surgery and forced him to miss significant time in both his junior and senior seasons. On December 10, the Trojans’ boys basketball squad took on Woodward-Granger in what was senior night. Both schools agreed to let Wilkins jump and score the first basket of the game in a heartwarming moment for both schools. Pleasantville ended up winning the game, 52-41 thanks to Mason Scheve’s 25 points.

The feel-good story continued into the baseball season, with Wilkins deemed healthy and ready to go. Wilkins led the team in batting in 2021, hitting .376, had all of Pleasantville’s five home runs, scored 39 runs, and also batted in a team-high 28 runs. His fielding percentage was .861, which was top five on the team.

Wilkins will graduate Pleasantville with one of the most heartwarming and inspirational stories in Pleasantville history.
